Casas em Movimento (Houses in Motion) has come with a house that tilts, turns, and follows the sun for its energy needs. Its photovoltaic roof follows the sun throughout the day and produces five times more energy than the house needs. So, you can recharge your eco-friendly vehicles with that excessive energy or sell this out to the local grid. According to the company website, “The roofs (photovoltaic) can tilt up to 60º, creating shadows in the windows during the summer, and exposing them to the Sun in the winter.”
This house is adaptable according to the user’s needs and routine. Further, the house occupying 100 square meters of space is portable and can be moved readily and easily. The project’s creator, Manuel Vieira Lopes said, “This solution can be adapted to anywhere in the world. If the family moves out, the house can follow them.”
A user can also monitor and control this house with the help of the smartphone app. You can open the doors, open the shutters, turn on the lights, and arrange the interior according to your needs at the moment with the help of the app. The interiors of this house are also movable and you can control these movements with the help of the app.
Manuel Vieira Lopes’s project “Casas em Movimento” had represented Portugal in Solar Decathlon Europe (SDE) – the largest exhibition of sustainable and efficient housing in the world. Lopes is a professor of architecture at Portugal’s University of Porto and started to work on this project in 2010.
Now Lopes is searching for some potential buyers for this “Future Home.” And you may be one of them if you are willing to invest €250,000 ($283,538). Are you?0
