Do you remember this South African couple Hector Mkansi and Nonhlanhla Soldaat? Their video went viral online when Hector proposed to Nonhlanhla in November at her favourite eat out – KFC!

So, Hector and Nonhlanhla met in 2010 and knew they were right for each other. They also tied the knot in a small ceremony in 2012. However, Hector says that he wanted to do more, perhaps even get better wedding rings for them but their financial condition then would not permit it. He definitely knew that the wedding was not the wedding of their dreams.
So, much later, he decided to surprise his wife with better and newer rings and propose to her at her favorite eating joint – KFC.
In November 2019, Hector proposed to his wife again at a KFC outlet in South Africa. Unknown to them, however, the beautiful moment was being captured by someone, who then put up the video online.
And soon enough, the video went viral on social media.
KFC South Africa then put up the video, asking for help from people to identify this beautiful couple.

The video was shared widely on social media with tons of people across the world going gaga over the proposal. And finally, the couple was identified.
But what happened next is just mindblowing!
Tons of people and brands across South Africa were so delighted with the proposal that they offered to plan a fantastic wedding for the couple!
So, KFC South Africa offered a wedding planner and Uber and Audi offered to help the couple with travel. Meanwhile, Airlines Kulula offered to fly the couple for their dream honeymoon! And tons of other brands chipped in, from offering rings to the couple to gifting them mobile phones and offering them a lovely place to celebrate their wedding party.

And lo and behold, on New Year’s eve, the couple tied the knot, AGAIN, in a dazzling ceremony!
KFC South Africa shared multiple posts on social media related to the wedding. And they were absolutely delightful!

And while Hector was planning a decent wedding that would fit his budget this time, this was certainly not what he had anticipated. But of course, no one is complaining!
“We are still in disbelief, both of us have to ask each other if this is really happening from time to time. We couldn’t be more grateful to God and every single person that has shared in our little love story,” he told CNN.
“Our dream has come true, we never in a million years thought something like this would happen to us.”
