Harry Potter wand turns muggles to wizards

The Harry Potter wand kit by computing startup Kano will help you make your own wand and create magic.

Wingardium Leviosa! Want to try some Harry Potter magic spells? Well, now you can! There is a new wand that will let you cast spells as a wizard and create magic. The recently launched Harry Potter wand kit by computing startup Kano is aimed at teaching coding basics to children in an entertaining manner.

The way it works is pretty simple. The wand is a physical device that is compatible with Kano’s app, which users can use to build blocks of code that are then translated into magic spells. They can then cast magic spells on a tablet or a laptop through this app by swishing the wand. For instance, they can make potions bubble, feathers float, and pygmy puffs change colour. And that’s not all! There are heaps of other codes that kids can try and have fun. The kit can be bought online and is also available at Apple stores.
