Apple announces low-cost iPhone SE

Reviving its mid-market consumer base, Apple has officially announced the new iPhone SE, a low-cost and affordable iPhone that starts at $399 for a version with 64GB of storage.

The 128GB and 256GB models are available for $449 and $549 respectively.

Launched in three colors – black, white, and Product Red, the phone will be available to preorder from 17th April 2020.

Features of the new iPhone SE

This new iPhone features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, which is paired with Touch ID. It is powered by the fastest chip in a smartphone, A13 Bionic, which was introduced with iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. This new phone features the best single-camera system ever, with 12-megapixel f/1.8 aperture Wide camera.

Like all other iPhones, this one comes with a one-year free subscription of Apple TV Plus.

Here are a few notable features

Apple is also doing its bit for the coronavirus relief fund by means of selling this unique phone – a portion of the proceeds for iPhone Product Red will go to Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response, which among other things, aims to provide funds to nations in need of PPEs, lab equipment, and diagnostic treatment.

“The first iPhone SE was a hit with many customers who loved its unique combination of small size, high-end performance and affordable price; the new second-generation iPhone SE builds on that great idea and improves on it in every way — including our best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos — while still being very affordable,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“iPhone SE features the industry-leading performance of A13 Bionic that enables great battery life, takes stunning Portrait mode and Smart HDR photos, shoots amazing videos with stereo audio, is great for games and super fast web surfing, and is built with the same industry-leading security features our customers expect. We can’t wait to get iPhone SE into customers’ hands.”

We are very excited about this product and can’t wait to lay our hands on this new model. How about you?
