Social media helps dog’s return to family after 18 months

Sinatra, a husky, travelled 3,500 km to return to his Brooklyn home after he was found in Florida

Social media can be a boon sometimes and this story is a testimony to the fact. A Brooklyn family owes their pet dog’s return after 18 months and a 3,500 km round trip to a social media miracle. Sinatra, a husky, had gone missing from the family of Wills a few days after his daughter Zion died in a shooting incident. The husky had been a birthday present to the 14-year-old Zion.

Denis Verrill, who found Sinatra in Florida, said the dog was friendly despite the trauma it must have gone through. The dog’s chip implant, unfortunately, had a wrong phone number, making the contact with Wills almost impossible. But, thanks to social media, the family was located. Sinatra was finally driven home to a misty-eyed reunion by a relay of friends and family, who were delighted to have him back.
