22-year old media personality Kylie Jenner topped the 2020 World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities List by Forbes released on 5th June 2020.
With a net earning of $590 million, Jenner topped the list, thanks to a lucrative deal in which she sold 51 per cent of her cosmetics business, Kylie Cosmetics, to Coty in January this year. She was followed by rapper Kanye West, who earned $170 million, primarily due to his Yeezy sneakers deal with Adidas. Tennis legend from Switzerland Roger Federer, with net earnings of $106.3 million rounded off the first three spots on the list.
Soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo was fourth on the list with earnings of $105 million. He also became the first team player to earn a whopping $1 billion in his career. He was followed by rival Lionel Messi, who earned $104 million.
Tyler Perry, Neymar, Howard Stern, LeBron James, and Dwayne Johnson wrapped up places from six to ten on the list.
Quite a few musicians and singers were on the list, which included Elton John on number 14, Ariana Grande on 17, and Jonas Brothers on 20. Ed Sheeran, with earnings of $64 million and Taylor Swift, with earnings of $63.5 million, were on 23rd and 25th position respectively. Teenage singing sensation Billie Eilish was on 43rd spot with net earnings of $53 million.
According to Forbes, the highest-paid celebrities earned a total of $6.1 billion this year. This is a $200 million drop from last year and the first decline since 2016.
