The daredevil illusionist David Blaine is famous all over the world for his breathtaking and unbelievable feats. And this extreme performer wowed his fans recently by performing another daredevil stunt.
In a stunt called ‘Ascension,’ he took off from an airport near Page, Arizona and flew about 25,000 feet over the Arizona desert while holding on to a cluster of 52 helium balloons. He then, gradually, let go of small weights and strapped an oxygen mask after reaching at a height of 24,900 feet. Subsequently, he free-fell for about a minute before using a parachute to descend safely to the Earth.
The entire stunt lasted for about 30 minutes and was the first live stunt that Blaine performed since 2012.
“It’s like magic, it feels like I’m floating in the air,” Blaine said on a radio to his team of aides back on the ground.
This feat was livestreamed on YouTube and set a record as the most-watched YouTube Originals live event with over 770,000 viewers.

David Blaine is an American illusionist, endurance artist, and extreme performer who has performed a variety of high-risk feats of endurance. He has also widely been credited for innovating the way in which magic and illusion is shown on the television.
His many stunts have included trapping himself in a block of ice on Times Square for two days, catching a .22 caliber bullet fired from a rifle into a small metal cup in his mouth, withstanding electrocution, and hanging upside down without a safety net for over two days.
