The anonymous and mysterious English street artist Banksy shared his latest artwork on Instagram and it is a beautiful tribute to George Floyd, whose death in police custody in Minneapolis, United States has sparked a global movement to protest police brutality against African Americans and brought about an anti-racism revolution.

The artwork, which was posted on Instagram, has three images.

The first image shows a funeral-like set up, where candles and flowers adorn the photograph of a black figure. However, as one scrolls through to the second image, it is seen that a candle is burning down the flag of the United States of America.

In the third image, Banksy shares his thoughts on the anti-racism movement that is taking the world by storm.

“At first I thought I should just shut up and listen to black people about this issue. But why would I do that? It’s not their problem. It’s mine,” he wrote.

“People of colour are being failed by the system. The white system. Like a broken pipe flooding the apartment of the people living downstairs. This faulty system is making their life a misery, but it’s not their job to fix it. They can’t – no-one will let them in the apartment upstairs.

“This is a white problem and if white people don’t fix it, someone will have to come upstairs and kick the door in.”

While little is known about Banksy’s personal life, he does not shy away from depicting social issues in his paintings, which generally appear in the form of street art graffiti.

Earlier, Banksy had paid his tribute to the NHS by drawing a beautiful painting of a little child discarding his Spider Man and Bat Man toys in the bin and playing, instead, with a nurse wearing a cape, a mask, and an apron with a Red Cross on it.

What do you think about this latest artwork from this magnificent artist? Isn’t it extremely thought-provoking?
