Vietnam opens world’s first gold-plated hotel

Did you always believe in the famous adage that said all that glitters is not gold? You might be wrong!

At Vietnam’s Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel, all that glitters is definitely gold!

This hotel, which opened to the public recently, is being touted as the first ever gold plated hotel. It features gold plated interiors and exteriors. You can see gold everywhere here – in the lobby, on the tiles, and on the roof tops.

But that is not all!

The rooms have gold plated bath tubs, toilets, shower heads, mirrors, and wash basins. The coffee for customers is also served in gold plated cups, and the cutlery and crockery are all gilded in gold. What’s more is that there is also a 24-carat gold tiled infinity pool in the hotel!

“At the moment, there is no other hotel like this in the world,” said Nguyen Huu Duong, majority owner and chairman of Hoa Binh Group. And we certainly cannot disagree.

Have a look at all the grandeur in these pictures!

Built at a cost of $200 million, the Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake is a 25 storey hotel and is located in the central district of Hanoi along the Giang Vo Lake. If sources are to be believed, a whopping one tonne of gold was used to cover the entire hotel!

The hotel, owned by Hoa Binh Group and managed by U.S.-based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc., is priced at a modest $250 per night. However, this is due to the fact that the hotel is giving a 50 per cent discount for the first year.

And while the coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions are keeping international customers at bay, the hotel is attracting quite a few local tourists.

We can’t wait to visit the hotel and enjoy all the luxury soon! How about you? Don’t the pictures look great? Let us know your views in the comments section below.
