UK Pop Star Removes Makeup During Live Performance, Sends Powerful Message Across

Celebrities are always trying to look their best—be it onscreen or off it. And seldom do we find them without makeup. So, in a world fixated with appearances, it was heartening to see one pop star remove all of her makeup during a live performance.

British singer/songwriter Jess Glynne took everyone by surprise when she undid all the glam work done by her team of professionals. Jess was performing her hit song Thursday at the recently held Brit awards.

Midway through her performance, she started to remove her fake eyelashes and wipe off her makeup while singing the lines “I won’t wear makeup on Thursday / ’Cause who I am is enough.” Jess was accompanied by a legion of women onstage, who also joined her in removing their makeup.

Needless to say, the audience eagerly recorded this one of a kind performance. And since then, the video of Jess and the women removing their makeup has become quite a sensation.

The singer has won over hearts by this gesture. And praises are pouring in from around the world.

And it’s not just the women, men too are going gaga over Jess’s performance.

Though the singer didn’t win any awards at the show, she sure won a lot of hearts.

A gesture like this helps reinforce the message of body positivity. Let’s hope this movement continues to grow.
