A UN study says that the ozone layer is mending. After years of damage caused by harmful chemicals, the protective layer that shields the Earth from the Sun’s harmful rays is healing at a rate of one to three per cent per decade. The report said that the Antarctic ozone hole was expected to close by 2060.
