Joe Biden, the former Vice President of the United States of America, announced his Presidential bid for 2020 after months of speculation and deliberation. He joins an already crowded field of Democrats that include the likes of Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Kamala Harris, and Senator Amy Klobuchar against President Donald Trump.

This is the third time that Biden is running for the President: his earlier attempts were in 1988 and 2008.
Biden is, undeniably, the most experienced of the Democrats that have announced their bids. He has had an illustrious four-decade-long career in United States politics – apart from serving as the Vice-President in the Barack Obama government for two terms, he has also been the Senator of Delaware from 1973 to 2009.
Who is Joe Biden?
Born on 20th November 1942 in Pennsylvania, Biden was elected to the Senate of the United States to represent Delaware at the ripe age of 29. He took to office, however, when he turned 30 a few weeks later.
His first attempt at the for the White House in 1988 was marred when he withdrew his nomination after accepting charges of plagiarism of a campaign speech. He opted out of the Presidential race in 2008 after he was not able to garner an impressive number of votes. Subsequently, he joined Barack Obama as a candidate for the Vice-President.
Biden was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction by President Barack Obama in 2017.
