Pianist Treats Elephants to Bach, Beethoven at Thai Sanctuary

Music is the strongest form of magic. ― Marilyn Manson

Music is indeed magic. And Paul Barton is a magician who is using this magic to bring some solace to his four-legged friends. Barton is a classical pianist who plays Bach, Beethoven and other such classic melodies to his pachyderm audience at the Elephants World retirement sanctuary in Thailand.

Situated in Kanchanaburi province, ElephantsWorld is an animal-rescue facility that is home to several old and handicapped elephants. Barton first started to play there in 2011, and since then he has been a regular. Several times a week, he can be seen playing melodies for these gentle giants. The animals also seem to enjoy the music and can be seen standing still while he plays. And in this video, they can be actually seen trumpeting along to the tunes!

So, what do you think of this initiative by Barton? Should others follow suit? Do let us know in the comments below.
