Nutritionist shares ‘Instagram vs. reality’ pics, encourages women to embrace their bodies

An Australian nutritionist is on a mission. She is unmasking the ‘reality’ behind those drool worthy social media photos one pic at a time.

Lyndi Cohen, an Australian dietitian, nutritionist and blogger, is creating awareness about the perfect photos that one sees on Instagram through her handle- nude_nutritionist.

She has been posting two of her pictures side by side, taken minutes apart, on her Instagram account labelling them as ‘Instagram’ and ‘Reality’. Needless to say, the ‘Instagram’ pics look better than the ‘Reality’ pics.

The aim behind this exercise is to show how can one cheat camera to create those perfect ‘Instagram’ pics. And, by doing so, encourage people to love their bodies and themselves.

“You can either spend the rest of your life hating your body and hiding… (but haven’t you spent long enough doing that already?)… or you can choose to stop constantly comparing yourself to curated newsfeed images and love your body instead. Turn up as you are. You’re already good enough.,” she wrote in one of her social media posts.

In today’s times, when we are flooded by these picture-perfect bodies, these posts by an influencer are inspiring and encouraging. They help to show how lighting, camera angles, and filters can be exploited effectively to help users go from plain to glam.

Lyndi’s posts have already inspired a lot of people to accept their bodies. Let’s hope she continues to motivate more and more people to love ‘Reality’ over ‘Instagram’.
