As if wearable technology was not enough, people in Sweden have lately started getting microchips embedded in their skin. It’s the size of a rice grain and is a rage among the Swedes right now. Reason? It makes their lives more convenient and helps them zip through their routines. Right from swiping into their office to making payments or even helping with rail journeys, the chip does it all. The chips are inserted into the skin just above the thumb using a syringe, and the entire procedure costs around $180.
Experts are divided on the health risks that the chips might cause. While some believe they are safe, others think that they could infections.
