Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce de Leon, a volunteer and a model, was crowned Miss World 2018 in Sanya, China, becoming the first Mexican to win the crown. She has completed a degree in International Business and is also associated with a school that educates children from the indigenous tribes of Mexico. Further, she serves on the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls. Little wonder that such a beauty with brains and compassion has won the crown!
This was the 68th session of the coveted international pageant and was held in Sanya for the eighth time. 118 contestant from countries across the world participated in the event. The first runner-up was Miss Thailand while Miss Belarus, Miss Jamaica, and Miss Uganda were in the top 5.
