Fortune Magazine recently released its list of America’s largest 500 companies for 2020 recently, famously called the Fortune 500 companies.

This is the 66th edition of the list and the companies on the list this year represent 66 per cent of America’s economy, amounting to a massive $14.2 trillion in terms of revenue.

While there were some minor changes in rankings, the same 10 companies from 2019 were in the top 10 this year too.

In terms of ranking for this year, retail giant Walmart topped the list for the eighth consecutive year. E-commerce behemoth Amazon made a massive jump to the second place this year from fifth place last year, reaching its highest ranking ever.

Oil and gas company Exxon Mobile, technology company Apple, and healthcare company CVS Health on the third, fourth, and fifth position respectively rounded off the top 5 on the list.

Multinational conglomerate Berkshire Hathway headed by Warren Buffett was the Most Profitable Company on the list. It was followed by Apple, Microsoft, and JPMorgan Chase.

There were quite a few first timers on the list, which included Dow at number 78, Baker Hughes at 129, and Uber Technologies at number 228.
