Despite severe criticism by social activists and human rights groups, India has deported seven Rohingya to Myanmar. Rohingyas Muslims are ethnic minorities of Myanmar.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court of India refused to intervene in the government’s order of deportation of Rohingya to Myanmar. A plea was filed by some social activist before the Supreme Court for thwarting the deportation.

Approximately 40,000 Rohingya have taken shelter in India, in which 18,000 are registered as refugees by the UN.

The UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) has raised concern about the security of these people in Myanmar.
