An All-Weather Garden is Coming Soon Inside your Kitchen

If you are someone that constantly worries about the adulteration of food and the pesticides used in the food we consume daily, this news will bring you some relief.

A Canadian startup is working on a new product called OGarden Smart. The name of the product literally defines itself: it’s an O-shaped garden that is smart, all weatherproof, and primarily works on autopilot with minimal intervention.

For a fresh meal every day, all you need to do is place a “bag of virgin earth with seeds” in the compartment below the OGarden. Once the seeds sprout, you are required to move them in the wheel above. The wheel rotates automatically and the plants get the optimal amount of artificial light to grow from the LEDs attached to it. The automated watering system takes care of watering the plants. Now, all you need to do is watch the plants grow, and harvest them to prepare wholesome meals.

The icing on the cake is that the machine consumes 1/10th of the power consumed by the microwave in your home.

Reviews of an earlier edition of OGarden have indicated that most users felt a significant difference in the quality and freshness of the vegetables grown via OGarden when compared with what they bought from grocery stores.

Being an indoor machine, OGarden can be used to grow vegetables all year long without worrying about the weather conditions outside.
