76th Golden Globe Awards Announced

76th Golden Globe Awards announced

The 76th Golden Globe Awards for excellence in films and television were announced in January 2019. Hosted by Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, they were held in The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. This Award will be remembered for its inclusiveness and diversity as Sandra was also the first Asian to host the award.

The much-acclaimed movie ‘Green Book’ won the maximum number of awards – three. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Roma’ were not too far behind and won two awards each. The nominees for the awards were announced earlier, December 6, 2018, by Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann, and Christian Slater.

Also, at the Globes this year, celebrities wore black and white wristbands and ribbons that read #TimesUpx2 to show solidarity to the TimesUp movement highlighting sexual harassment and gender inequality in Hollywood and to fight for safety and equity in the workplace.
