Best Countries to Travel To…

The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report 2019 by the World Economic Forum has been released.

And for the third time in a row, Spain has topped the list of the best country in the world to visit.

And six out of the top ten destinations are in Europe, with Spain, France, and Germany occupying the first, second, and third spot respectively. The United Kingdom came in at number six while Switzerland was at ten.

The United States of America and Canada were at number five and nine respectively. The Land of the Rising Sun, Japan was at number four while Australia finished in seventh place.

The Travel and Tourism Competitive Index by the World Economic Forum comprises of four subindexes – Enabling Environment, Travel and Tourism Policy and Enabling Conditions, Infrastructure, and Natural and Cultural Resources.

Published biennially, the report benchmarks 140 nations across the world that enable “the sustainable development of the Travel & Tourism (T&T) sector, which in turn, contributes to the development and competitiveness of a country.”
