There are a few things that are symbolic of Tarzan, the feral child raised by apes in the African jungles. He runs, climbs trees, and is lovable! He has ruled the world of novels and movies for long. But hey, there is a real-life Tarzan too! Let us introduce you to the Tarzan from Hong Kong – Jason.
One can easily identify him by his long interlaced strands of hair, his chiselled midriff, and youthful charm. He skitters around the beach ridges, hums the tune that awakens his spirit, and plays the drums. He lives a life that most of us would only dream of, but would never dare to live.
He has built a house on his own and proudly claims that he didn’t cut even a single tree to build it. Instead, he recycled plastic bottles to make the coolest house you will ever see.
Jason excels at growing his organic food in the hinterland around his house and his favourite hobbies include swimming and climbing the rocks. However, he enjoys his hair the most. He claims that he hasn’t cut his hair for 24 straight years, beat that!
Jason faced many adversities as his mother passed away when he was merely a kid. It rendered him homeless and he sought a job to stay afloat. For a significant amount of time, he even lived in churches and metro stations too. When a dewy-eyed Jason remembers his childhood, he talks about how he made himself toys from wood. Well, gone are those days as Disney has hired him for a show where he will have to be himself and he would get paid for it!
Jason found true happiness in this lifestyle and he can’t trade it for anything. While he can afford a city life with the money that he earns, he thinks the city life is not for him. He loves the calm atmosphere along the coastline bracketed by the dense jungle.
He has learned to extract happiness from the most common things, mastering the art of being happy. You’d notice his infectious laughter in the video, a testimony of how happy he is with his life.
We are completely in awe of his way of life. Given a chance, we would love to meet this real-life Tarzan too who chooses to live this magnificent life.3
