We all love cheese. The more the better. Cheesy pizza, sandwiches, dips, crackers, salads – we love it in everything. Everything tastes better with cheese. Even the good old coffee!
We are not joking. Along with the regular cappuccino, mocha and latte, you can now order cheese coffee. Yes, you read it right. Cheese coffee. This is the latest entrant in the world of beverages and it is set to become the next big thing in 2019.
Giving a twist to the regular coffee, Percolate, a Los Angeles-based café, has come up with cheese coffee. The drink is cold brewed. The icy beverage is then topped with a layer of cheese which according to Forbes is “a mixture of very lightly sweetened cream cheese and heavy whipping cream.” It is then finished off with little cocoa. And lo and behold, the innovative cheese coffee is ready to be savoured.
Percolate first introduced the drink in a social media post sometime in January, and since then it has become quite popular.
Adding cheese to beverages is not a new thing, though. Before cheese coffee, cheese tea was a big thing in some Asian countries like Taiwan and China. In fact, before this coffee, Percolate themselves had come up with a cheese-topped peach ice tea back in 2018.
So, what do you think of this new drink? Will it be worth the hype?
