18-year-old Ellie Goldstein from Illford, Essex created history recently!

She became the first model with Down’s syndrome to model for a Gucci Beauty campaign, which has been featured online by Italian Vogue.

And, with this shoot, she has also become one of the most popular models of Gucci, with her picture garnering thousands of likes on the brand’s Instagram page.

Ellie was photographed by David PD Hyde wearing Gucci Mascara L’Obscur.

Alessandro Michele, creative director of Gucci, explained the concept behind the cosmetic item, stating, “I designed L’Obscur mascara for an authentic person who uses make-up to tell their story of freedom, in their way.

“We called it L’Obscur because this word balances charm and mystery,” he added.

Goldstein is managed by the Zebedee Management, a talent agency “created to increase the representation of people who have until now been excluded in the media.”

The agency put up a picture of Goldstein on its page, saying “ELLIE – The biggest liked post EVER over on @gucci.”

Goldstein was clearly overwhelmed with all the love and expressed her gratitude towards Gucci Beauty for featuring her in the campaign. “I love this. Thank you for this amazing opportunity and a fabulous day shooting,” the model wrote as a comment.

Ellie, who is pursuing a performing arts course in Redbridge, was born with an extra chromosome but she has not let anything come in her way!

About this massive achievement, her mother Yvonne said, “We’re all incredibly proud of Ellie and all the lovely comments she has had on Gucci’s Instagram.”

“She has always loved being in the limelight and in front of the camera, she’s very confident and good at taking direction.”

We wish Ellie all the best in all her future endeavors!
