American rapper and Grammy-nominated artist Post Malone is donating thousands of his crocs to frontline workers across the United States.
The rapper has collaborated with an organization called ‘Musicians on Call’ to donate 10,000 pairs of his sold out Duet Max Clog II Crocs to frontline workers, housekeeping staff, and other healthcare workers at 70 hospitals across the country.
‘Musicians on Call’ is an organization that delivers live and recorded music to patients, families, and caregivers in healthcare facilities. It distributed the crocs to hospitals staff who work in various units including COVID, cardiac, oncology, ICU, surgical care, pediatrics, hospice, among others.
“The stress of the pandemic on staff in all areas of the hospital has been unrelenting and we have been doing what we can to continue bringing them the joy of live music,” said Musicians On Call President and CEO Pete Griffin.
“We are so grateful to Post Malone and Crocs for joining us in providing even more relief when they need it the most through this generous donation. Thanks to them, caregivers at 70 hospitals nationwide will have the added support of their Crocs to help them through their day,” he added.
“This gift was made in gratitude of and support for their tireless efforts in battling this pandemic,” a statement by Musicians On Call said.
Duet Max Clog II marks Malone’s fifth collaboration with the American company Crocs, that manufactures and markets the Crocs brand of foam clogs. It was sold out immediately after its launch in December 2020. These crocs come in black or pink colorways and feature adjustable straps and clips.
‘Musicians on Call’ put up a post on its Instagram page about this initiative. “As a special early #FrontlineValentines gift, we teamed up with @postmalone and @crocs, to offer our hospital partners nationwide a gesture of gratitude with extra comfort!,” the post said.
However, this is not Post Malone’s first effort in helping to contribute towards mitigating the effects of the pandemic. Earlier in April last year, he held a virtual concert from his home as a tribute to the rock band Nirvana, raising a massive $500, 000 for relief efforts towards the coronavirus pandemic.
