New York Library Lends Clothes, Bags to Job Aspirants

A library is traditionally for borrowing books. But, the New York Public Library (NYPL) has taken its lending business a bit further by providing clothes, bags, and briefcases to job aspirants. This initiative is the brainchild of Michelle Lee, a young adult librarian at NYPL. The members who have had fines less than $15 can borrow the items they require. They can keep the items for up to three weeks. The library also offers periodic workshops for job aspirants where they can learn skills such as how to prepare for an interview, prepare a resume, find jobs, and apply for them.

What do you think of the initiative? Should more and more libraries follow suit? Do let us know in the comments below.
