Heartwarming video of a married couple of 60 years reunited after 215 days apart goes viral

The coronavirus pandemic has caused much distress to many families around the world. Unfortunately, many have lost their loved ones without being able to meet them for one last time. And many others have had to live apart from their loved ones due to the restrictions that the governments of various nations have imposed.

And, if anything, this pandemic has helped us realized the worth and importance of non-material things such as love, empathy, and family.

Recently, a video that captures the heartwarming moments of a couple married for 60 years being reunited after 215 days has gone viral.

Childhood sweethearts Joseph and Eve Loreth had been married for six decades. But in March, Joseph was hospitalized due to an illness which caused his leg to be amputated. He had to remain in rehab post the surgery. Meanwhile, due to the safety restrictions imposed due to the pandemic, Joseph could not have visitors at the Rosecastle Assisted Living Care facility at Delaney Creek in Florida and Eve could not visit her husband.

In August, Eve moved in to the facility but the couple still could not meet for safety reasons. They did, however, keep in touch through phone calls and a few window visits.

And after 215 days apart, Joseph was finally reunited with his wife. The video of the beautiful moments of their reunion was captured by the staff at the facility and has gone viral ever since.

“We got to witness these two resident love birds see and hug each other for the first time since the pandemic,” the center wrote on Facebook. “Get your tissues out!”

In the touching video, “Oh my God!” Eve says when she turns around to see Joseph waiting for her on a wheelchair.

“I sure miss you,” Joseph says, wearing a mask and holding back his tears.

“Aw, I miss you,” Eve says, getting up to give Joe their first hug since March and kiss his forehead.

“I love you,” Joseph said. “I didn’t think I would ever get over here. I missed you so much…For sixty years I’ve done something right.”

And yes, we certainly did have our tissues out watching this emotional moment. Do watch the video for yourself and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
