Britain Bans Third-Party Sale of Puppies and Kittens

Britain bans third-party sale of puppies and kittens

In a bid to reduce animal exploitation and unscrupulous sales of puppies and kittens, Britain has prohibited the sale of such animals by third-party sellers. This includes pet shops and other commercial dealers. Under this system, persons wanting to adopt puppies and kittens will be required to deal with breeders or a re-homing centre directly. It is believed that this ban will be a crackdown on illegally sold animals. Also, it will reduce unlicensed third-party sellers that raise animals in unethical and inconducive conditions.

The government also held public consultations, which showed overwhelming support in favour of such a ban.

Isn’t this a wonderful measure towards animal welfare? What do you think? Should other countries follow suit?
