The wildfires in Australia are blazing off massive areas, causing much harm to man and material. The pictures circulating online of the tons of animals killed due to the wildfires are harrowing.

However, there are some who are relentlessly working to save the lives of these beautiful creatures.

And the Irwin family is one of those. The family of the famous TV presenter and wildlife expert Steve Irwin has, until now, treated a massive 90,000 animals affected by the wildfires.

The Irwin family owns and operates the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, a wildlife rehabilitation and animal rescue service.

Bindi Irwin, the daughter of Steve Irwin, put up a beautiful post on Instagram, with a message that read, “With so many devastating fires within Australia, my heart breaks for the people and wildlife who have lost so much. I wanted to let you know that we are SAFE. There are no fires near us @AustraliaZoo or our conservation properties. Our Wildlife Hospital is busier than ever though, having officially treated over 90,000 patients. My parents dedicated our Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital to my beautiful grandmother. We will continue to honour her by being Wildlife Warriors and saving as many lives as we can.”

This is patient number 90,000 that the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital has treated. โ€˜Ollieโ€™ the orphaned platypus is receiving round the clock care until he can be released back to the wild. Over the last 16 years, the hospital has provided 24/7 wildlife rehabilitation and an incredible animal rescue service. Weโ€™re so proud of this world-class facility! Thank you for your support – with pressures from drought to bushfires, wildlife need our help now more than ever.

The two siblings have been updating their followers with regular updates on Instagram about the animal rescue and rehabilitation process.

Unfortunately, Australia is facing the brunt of devastating wildfires across New South Wales and Victoria that have until now ravaged 1,300 houses and caused the death of 24 people. According to the University of Sydney, close to 480 million animals have been affected by the wildfires since September.
