With most nations in the world under lockdowns, people are finding new ways to cheer themselves and others up!

Now, on an ordinary day, taking the garbage bin out would be one of the most mundane tasks ever. However, with staying indoors becoming the new norm, a task as commonplace as taking the garbage bin out of home is seeming exciting for most people.

What began as a simple Facebook post has now snowballed into a massive global exercise!

A friend of Danielle Askew, a kindergarten teacher from Harvey Bay in Queensland, Australia, posted on Facebook saying that she was excited to go out because it was the day when she had to put her bin out of her house. Danielle challenged her to get dressed to do the same, in turn, dressing up herself to do this otherwise banal chore.

Danielle dressed up as Elsa from the movie Frozen, donning a nice blue gown and a golden crown. Then, she created a Facebook page called ‘Bin Isolation Outing‘ and shared it among friends and family. However, within a few days of the launch of this page, she had over 100,000 members, all dressing up in fancy costumes to walk their bins out of homes for collection.

And now, this has become a global phenomenon, with people right from Texas to Sydney and the Netherlands posting pictures in their finest and fanciest of costumes. Some costumes are hilarious, some others are entertaining, while a few others are downright scary!

So, you have people wearing evening gowns, teddy bear costumes, and Star Wars costumes, dressing up in the fanciest of their costumes to keep the bin outside.

Don’t believe us? Have a look at a few pictures yourself.

The Facebook group has provided the much needed laughs to people scrolling on social media, looking for something to help them cope with social isolation.

Isn’t this absolutely hilarious? Have you joined this club yet? Do post pictures of yourself dressed up to put your bin outside! Can’t wait to see you guys!
