The fandom culture connects us cinema, book, music and art lovers across the globe, be it the Sherlock fans or the Potterheads we’ve been since our adolescent days or the recent BTS fandom that is taking the world by storm. Not many characters with negative shades, however, attract much of a fan base. One stark exception to this is Joker. Warner Bros. Pictures recently released the trailer of the much-awaited Joker, bringing cheers among its fans across the continents.

Joaquin Phoenix plays the lead character of Arthur Fleck, transporting us back to all the legendary movies we have seen the Joker in. The movie boasts of a stellar star cast supporting Phoenix. They include Robert De Niro, Frances Conroy, Zazie Beetz, Josh Pais Marc Maron, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Brett Cullen, Bill Camp, and Shea Whigham.

The Joker

For those of you living under the rock, here’s what this craze is all about. Joker is a supervillain first mentioned in the Batman comic books. His first mention was in the Spring 1940 Batman #1. The villain gives Batman a tough time as Batman tries to save the Gotham City.

Ironically, the character has a face resembling that of a clown. The DC comic character features in many other movies and series owing to its tremendous popularity, which include the likes of Birds of Prey, Gotham, The Dark Knight, and Justice League Action. The Joker made it to the stage as well in 2011 with the theatrical production Batman Live. Several video games related to Batman have featured the Joker in them.

The Unforgettable Dialogues!

The most badass villain in the history of cinema has the most badass dialogues. Read some of them right here!

He wakes up the monster inside us:

“See, I’m not a monster. I’m just ahead of the curve.”

And he does it again!

“We stopped checking for monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us.”

He teaches us to be the best in what we do.

“This city deserves a better class of criminal and I’m gonna give it to them.”

How correct can it be!

“A man with nothing to fear is a man with nothing to lose.”

Now, those are some serious life lessons:

“Three things to know in life: 1. Never beg anyone. 2. Never trust anyone. 3. Never depend on anyone.”

On a lighter note:

“If you have to explain a joke, there is no joke!”

This is what we call sarcasm at its best:

“Very neat! That ugly head of yours does have a brain.”

Three words and they say so much:

“Why so serious?”

The list is endless but got to stop! Which one’s your favourite dialogue? Just as the teaser broke the internet, the movie will hopefully break all the numbers!
