The captain of the Indian National cricket team, Virat Kohli has had a stupendous year with the bat. He scored a total of 2,735 international runs in 2018, the most by any cricketer this year and the fourth highest ever by any cricketer in a calendar year. He scored these runs at a staggering average of 133.35 in ODIs and 55.08 in tests. This record was despite the fact that he was rested for the Asia Cup.
Remarkably, this is the third consecutive year in which he has scored the most number of runs in international cricket. 2017 was the most prolific year for Kohli as he scored a total of 2,818 runs. In 2016, he scored 2,595 runs in the entire calendar year.
With the number of records to his name, it seems as though his name will certainly go down in history as one of the best cricketers ever!
