Chanel Showcases Karl Lagerfeld’s Last Collection at Paris Fashion Week

Chanel showcased the last collection designed by iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld at the Paris Fashion Week. Lagerfeld passed away in February and the show was a tribute to the maverick designer.

It started off with a one minute silence in memory of Lagerfeld and his genius. This was followed by models showcasing his work at the Grand Palais in Paris that was transformed into an arresting backdrop resembling a ski resort. The setting looked gorgeous with white smoke billowing out of chimneys and 12 Alpine chalets cutting a spectacular picture.

Model Cara Delevingne led the runway of models at the show that included Penelope Cruz as a model too. The collection was the perfect amalgamation of primary colours and signature fabrics such as dogtooth and tweed. It also included a range of ready-to-wear accessories. Knit dresses and oversized tweed jackets were seen aplenty on the show that reminded viewers of Lagerfeld’s sheer genius with designs.
