2020 BAFTA nominations announced

The nominations for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, also called BAFTA, have been released.

Joker leads the pack of BAFTA nominations with a total of 11 nominations. Coming a close second are Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman with 10 nominations each. 1917, the epic war film directed by Sam Mendes was nominated in a total of 9 categories.

The 73rd edition of the BAFTA awards will be held on 2nd February 2020 at the Royal Albert Hall in London and will be hosted by comedian and actor Graham Norton.

These awards will be an important indicator of who would win the Oscars.
